L’Oreal Brandstorm 2023, School Finalist, Team Leader

Sophomore 2023

As the team leader for our entry in the L'Oréal Brandstorm competition, I guided my two teammates in exploring the untapped potential of the metaverse. Together, we decided to link L’Oréal with Fortnite, envisioning a collaboration that would bring L’Oréal products into the virtual world. Our concept was to transform L’Oréal’s signature items into in-game tools and assets, allowing players to interact with the brand in a whole new way. We also designed virtual characters in the metaverse, each embodying L’Oréal’s values and style, bridging the gap between traditional branding and digital innovation.

Our strategy extended beyond the virtual world. To create a cohesive experience, we developed L’Oréal Connect, an initiative that would amplify the campaign in the real world through interactive city buses and targeted hashtags. These elements encouraged users to engage with the brand in both digital and physical spaces, creating an immersive campaign that reinforced L’Oréal’s presence across platforms. The campaign was designed to enhance product visibility, boost sales, and reach a new demographic interested in the metaverse, positioning L’Oréal at the forefront of this emerging market.

This experience strengthened my skills as a strategic marketer, visual designer, and leader. As a strategic marketer, I focused on how best to position L’Oréal within the metaverse, analyzing both digital trends and consumer engagement strategies. My background in visual design allowed me to craft compelling avatars and campaign visuals that captured attention and aligned with L’Oréal’s brand identity. Leading the team through this creative journey, I not only honed my leadership skills but also expanded my perspective on the future of marketing, ready to explore new boundaries in digital branding.
